Malaysia - KL

We didn't realise it but the wkend that our visa's ran out was a bank holiday and so everyone was legging it out of Bangkok for the break.  We were therefore forced to fly and bus it into Malaysia as trains were booked up.  We flew down to Hatyai in the south of Thailand and then got an overnight bus to Kuala Lumpur.  I actually managed to get to sleep on the bus and then was rudely awoken when we had suddenly arrived in KL at 4am.  Ouch.
Welcome to KL.

We took refuge in KFC once more (I just had a coffee btw) and waited until public transport started then off to the hotel where we were turned away because check isn't until 12.  Another ouch.

By day.

KL by night.

The curse of the self serve curry counter.  You want to try
everything.

Malaysia is quite a mix of influences and it's quite culturally diverse.  I guess this comes from it's mix of Chinese, Malay, Indian and indigenous communities.  We stayed near Little India and definitely got back into Indian curries.  I would say that we had a binge for sure.

KL seems fairly easy to figure out.  You've got your metro and monorail to get around and pretty good buses.  It's got a good range of street food as well so you can eat fairly cheaply.  The monorail is kind of like the sky train in Bangkok in that it's elevated above traffic and you can zoom over city.  It's fun to ride because it tilts like a roller coaster.  Fun but kind of concerning all at the same time...
